Today we dive deep into the world of cinematography with the Canon C200 Cinema Camera, to see if it's worth it here in 2023. This is my opinion of every facet of this filmmaking powerhouse, from its price and recording options to its image quality, low light performance, and body design.
The Canon C200 certainly offers bang for your buck in 2023, but it's not worth it if you can't find it for less than $2500 US. I'll explain why.
📹 Recording Options
The C200 is starting to show its age in its limited recording formats. I delve into its various recording options, including resolutions, frame rates, and codecs, so you can determine if it fits your needs.
🌟 Image Quality
The camera's 12-bit RAW light still impresses- its dynamic range, color science, and overall cinematic appeal is timeless, but the RAW light files are prohibitively large for most filmmakers nowadays.
📽️ Body Design and Ergonomics
The Canon C200 is more than just a pretty face. Its full-size body, ergonomic design, build quality, and user-friendly features ensure you're comfortable and efficient on set.
