Hipster Whale added quite a few video game crossovers in Crossy Road. The one related to this Halloween video is the Purple Bloop. That character and the Grablin are from the game Clicker Heroes.

I haven't played the original, but the mindless hitting of enemies is a surprisingly challenging addition to Crossy Road. Even though Crossy Road is endless, it's not idle. You're forced to move forward. It's this duality that makes the game mode tactical.

Instead of just merely hopping forward across rows, there's the added objective of looking for safe spots. That's the opportunity to get in some uninterrupted hits.

Yet, this type of gameplay is tedious and repetitive. Is there a way to simplify it? Well, with the turbo mode of an 8BitDo Micro, the enemies were dropping quick. This seems like a terribly unfair advantage.

However, besides unlocking the Purple Bloop, it's not clear if defeating these enemies accomplishes anything significant. Additionally, turbo wasn't used until the Purple Bloop was unlocked. Shouldn't players have right to protect their joints from unnecessary damage?

This type of gameplay did feel unhealthy. I find Crossy Road to be a relaxing casual game. But with this game mode, it was more intense. Good thing there wasn't a level counter, otherwise this could get even more aggressive.
