Sparky Linux Based on Debian With Xfce4 Desktop Install & A Peek Inside Not For New Users?
Sparky Linux uses the Calamares installer. The install went as expected.
Sparky Linux comes with a variety of software. Some useful (to me) and
some (to me) not so much). It's based on Debian & provides a 'stable' & 'Rolling' releases. In the video I used the stable version, however if I was installing on the metal, I would use the rolling release. I was/am very glad that Sparky Linux did away with the long password requirement.
That really was not needed & may have prevented potential users to say
"next". I did. I installed Sparky Linux in the latter part of 2019 & I passed in favor of another Debian fork. It rhymes with em-ex. But yet another story. Sparky Linux does seem to be a well honed OS & could be used (with some lite reading & a little gumption) by a Linux newbie.
I put it on my must do list @ no. 11.
Means I get to play in Linux at least for the next 11 years. SuWEET!!!
I would & could recommend Sparky Linux & feel good about it. I will know
more at or near the end of 2031. Be sure to check back with me & I will
keep you posted...
