Before I head into the JBL Charge 4 review, here is the price of the device in Nepal as well as in the international market.
JBL Charge 4 Price: $120
JBL Charge 4 Price in Nepal: Rs. 19,500

The JBL Charge 4 is the successor of the Charge 3. So the design looks quite familiar here. However, on comparing the JBL Charge 4 vs Charge 3, the newer one comes with a bigger body and is also quite heavy when it comes to the weight. The JBL Charge 4 wireless Bluetooth Speaker weighs 980 grams, which is quite heavy for my liking. Although the device is marketed as JBL Charge 4 Portable Bluetooth speaker, it’s not something you’d want carry around all day long.

Now let’s talk about the sound quality. Although the device is big and bulky, it comes with a mono audio setup. The single speaker on this device delivers an audio output of 30watts. With the 30watt audio driver, the output of the device is very loud. Although you won’t be able to witness the sophisticated stereo sound here, bass is quite a lot. On my JBL Clip 4 bass test, the device surprised me with its stunning performance in the low frequency reasons. On the JBL Charge 4 extreme bass test, you can feel your heart pounding according to the beats. So I really enjoyed the device on my use.

Talking about the battery, JBL Charge 4 features a massive 7800mAh battery. The JBL Charge 4 battery can be charged through the USB Type-C port. There is also a USB Type-A port if you want to charge your device with the speaker. With such an enormous battery, JBL Charge 4 battery life is promised to be around 20 hours. However, on my use, the device backed me for around 17 hours while listening to music at medium volumes and 13 hours at high volumes. Although the device quite failed to deliver the backup it promised, it is still better than the Bose Soundlink micro. While I compared JBL Charge 4 vs Bose Soundlink Micro, the backup on the Charge 4 was more than two times.

Furthermore, the device is waterproof. It has received IPX7 certification, which means that it is resistant to water up to 1 meter. So, although the device is bulky in size, JBL Charge 4 Waterproof Bluetooth Speaker is a decent device for the price.
