Superior Drummer Rock Mixing Tutorial - using the punch exciter to get drums to cut through
Quick mixing tip that works for Superior Drummer 3, as well as a general mix tip for getting drums to cut through more during loud/dense chorus. I like to use parallel saturation, compression, and EQ and ride the fader up using automation during the chorus!
Super Drummer has this awesome plugin called Punch Exciter 361. I use it on my master buss as well as on a send. Have yet to find a regular vst/au plugin that is as easy to use directly in the DAW. Let me know if you know of anything?
