RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das addressed the media on the Paytm issue, requesting everyone to wait for the release of the FAQ. He stated that the RBI has taken decisions after thorough consideration. He emphasized that whether it's a bank, payment bank, or cooperative bank if action is taken against someone, discussions extend for months or even years. He stressed that there is hardly any room for review, and the term 'review' is being used appropriately. He reiterated that the priority is to ensure customers do not face any inconvenience, hence Paytm has been given one month. The RBI took action against Paytm on January 31st, and one month is provided because customer interest is paramount.
