U.S. Navy Underway Replenishment • CONREP & VERTREP
The amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD-6) completes an underway replenishment (UNREP) in the East China Sea. Connected Replenishment (CONREP) involves rigging a cable between ships and sending supplies over a tensioned wire using a system of pulleys. Vertical Replenishment (VERTREP) is the transfer of cargo between ships using helicopters. UNREP filmed with USNS Wally Schirra (T-AKE) in April, 2014.
