In 2023, the Kalashnikov Concern presented a new compact AK-19 Kalashnikov assault rifle with a 5.56 NATO cartridge. This version of the AK is almost completely similar to the AK-12 of the 2023 model, but has a shortened barrel and a conventional rear end, instead of a flip.
