When Americans go to the polls on November 8, they’ll likely be choosing between candidates of the Democratic and Republican parties. Some ballots, however, will include political hopefuls from so-called third parties. As VOA’s chief national correspondent Steve Herman reports from Elizabeth, New Jersey, these parties have traditionally had little luck. But one new party is hoping to shake up the US system.
