There is an island called Pig Beach in the Bahamas. It is uninhabited, but there are many feral pigs living there.
There is no exact opinion on how these pigs ended up on the island in such numbers. According to one legend, a group of sailors landed the animals on the island, planning to return in a few months and take them for slaughter. However, for some reason, the ships never returned. The pigs adapted to life on the island, finding food in the remnants of food dropped from passing ships.

According to another version, the pigs survived the shipwreck off the coast of the island. It is also believed that the animals were bred by local residents for food, and then
to attract tourists.

Pig Beach is considered an uninhabited island with no permanent population. However, the island is home to about 50-60 wild pigs, as well as cats and goats. Pigs are not afraid of people and often come to the beach to bask in the sun and swim in the water.
