Please Note: this was made before Overbridge came out and gave people an option to control Digitakt before Overbridge was out so please stop down-voting it. Thanks!
So I go more DAWless regularly, but some interest arose in using Digitakt from an Ableton perspective. I think I would naturally stick to more Digitakt workflow, but here I uncovered some nice hybrid approaches...specifically: what if you like the Session and Clip Launcher way!?!?! That can be pretty fun! Also, using DRAW MODE in Ableton, you can build patterns quite close to a Step Sequencer approach.
Here are some very IMPORTANT NOTES: I didn't vocalize in the video: In the video I use the Ableton as the brain and the Digitakt is quite a dumb sampler (no sequence). However, right after completing the video I tried using the sequencer in the Digitakt synced to Ableton (Ableton master!) This is quite easy by sending Program Change from Ableton to the Digitakt. This method can give more digitakt step sequencing goodness and ableton can control other things more.
I affectionately call this method: UNDERBRIDGE ...I'm sure Overbridge will be great whenever it comes out, but its not really needed. You can get plenty of integration between Ableton and Digitakt thru simple MIDI setup on each. (I realize what Overbridge does and there will be more features, but do you need them to really work the 2 together???)
