Avid Media Composer First [Free Video Editing Software] • Avid Media Composer First [Free Vide... Avid announced at NAB 2015 that they'd be releasing a Free Video Editor: Avid Media Composer First!
Avid Media Composer First or Avid First, will be a free complete video editing software as a scaled down version of AVID, one of the bigger professional Video Editors.
This is going to allow users to get used to the AVID Media Composer Workflow and then transition into the paid software, similar to how those who use iMovie eventually transition to Final Cut Pro.
This is a big move by AVID and they are doing something similar with their PRO Tools Audio Editing software was well. I'm excited because this will create another great free option for those new to Video Editing and allow them to use a free tool that is still robust and has has great features that will help them develop professional video editing habits.
