The Dark Side of Ivy League: Legacy Admissions
Legacy admissions occur when children of alumni, professors, and donors get preferential treatment in admission to many top ranked and ivy League universities in the US. There is a constant debate about affirmative action versus legacy admissions in the US, especially for admission to top ranked universities and colleges. Just because a student is studying at a top US university does not mean that he or she is the most meritorious student.
