The power of getting on a few solid Spotify playlists... OMG.

I got on a few good sized ones and next thing I knew my first solo EP was on over 7,000 playlists. All because of a few strong playlists, that people listened to, saved and added my songs to their own Spotify library. A handful of hours that has turned into about 600,000 stream to-date, that is some solid R.O.I.

More playlist equal stronger chance of discover weekly, which will help grow your music even fast!

This approach is a very "homegrown" way of doing it... but it sure does work!

How to:
Search the genre your song is similar to
Find the playlists that ARE NOT Spotify curated
As you look through them, along with the title of the playlist, you’ll see the Spotify profile that created it.
Visit that Spotify profile
Depending on how people set up their Spotify profile, it will use the same profile picture as their Facebook.
Hop on Facebook, search that person's name and match the name to profile picture.
I know what sounds like a needle in the haystack, but you’ll be surprised how easy it is. I usually put a time limit on how long I search for any 1 person in particular
Now the next step is very important. Before you start spamming people, take time to actually familiarize yourself with their playlist. Listen to it, follow it, that way you have something meaningful to say to them when you send a message.
I’m not going to tell you what to send in the message that you’re pitching, but make it personal and 100% real. People can read thru others bull crap.
Don’t get discouraged if people don’t respond. They might not see your message, they might not like your music, or they might add it and forget to respond to you.

This is a proven way of getting on Spotify playlists that I have done and have even grown some online friendships with the people I’ve pitched my music to that I reach out to every time I release something new.
