Failed first test flight in my Buccaneer II
After spending a couple of months fixing up my new Buccaneer II, I was excited to finally be able to take her on her first test flight. With perfect conditions on this morning in Florida, it was a perfect time to take her up. Unfortunately a loss of power on takeoff/climb forced an aborted takeoff. The only damage, aside from my feelings, to the plane was the left landing gear and 1 prop blade. Otherwise, she's all good to fly again. This was a major learning experience for me and emphasized the importance of being thorough in your pre-takeoff checks. I am looking forward to getting her back in the air.
