In this episode, Dr. Harley walks through 100 years of discovery and advancement to get to the final discovery of DNA’s structure. She takes a look at Frederick Griffith’s R and S pneumococcus experiments (and Oswald Avery’s continuation of them), Martha Chase’s and Alfred Hershey’s study of bacteriophages, Rosalind Franklin’s and Maurice Wilkins’s famous Photo 51, and James Watson’s and Francis Crick’s final discovery of the double helix structure of DNA.
