Anime is steadily gaining popularity, especially among Western audiences. Understandably, many of us are concerned that translations may be done nefariously and deceitfully. We also worry that, as anime becomes more popular in the West, Japanese animation studios may attempt to conform to the somewhat silly rules adopted by many Western studios. We love anime as it is and appreciate how it gained popularity in its original form. We don't want to see it transform into something resembling many Western productions, where there's an overcorrection that risks forgetting what drew fans to their work in the first place.
