After many years apart, two Afghan refugee brothers, Popal (21) and Darmal (18), are reunited in Denmark. But the brothers are at very different stages in life. Popal, full of plans, was granted asylum a long time ago. Darmal has just arrived, with a heavy heart and insecure about his future. Darmal's asylum case is rejected and their hopes for a life together are shattered.
The New Nordic Voice competition introduces promising Nordic filmmakers. Their work has not previously been screened in the Nordisk Panorama Film Festival competition programme, and the selected films are among the first releases by the filmmaker.
