How to enable monetization on your YouTube Channel (New for 2017)

As of November 2019, there is a new monetization application process. Just open https://studio.youtube.com/channel/UC... to see your channel's status.

Join the YouTube Partner Program and enable monetization in four easy steps:

If your channel is eligible, click the "Enable" button on your your channel's Status and Features page (   / features  )

1. Read and accept the YouTube Partner Program terms

2. Associate an AdSense account with your channel - either link your existing AdSense account, or - if you don't have an AdSense account - you can apply for AdSense.

3. Set your monetization preferences: which ad formats you want to use and whether to automatically monetize all your videos

4. After your channel has 1000 subscribers and 4000 hours watchtime over the past 12 months (previously 10,000 views), it will automatically be reviewed by YouTube. Review usually takes a week, but could take several weeks.

If your channel is approved, your monetized videos are automatically eligible to start displaying ads.
