It's here; the Mi Mix 3! It's one of the most requested videos the last few weeks, so let's dive right in!

The Mix 3 is the third Mix model to get released in about a year time, and quite a lot has changed from the previous models. The Mix 3 has a sliding display, that slides down to reveal the selfie-camera and it this makes the phone slightly thicker and slightly heavier than its predecessor.
On the left side of the phone, you can now find a dedicated Ai-button which calls up Xiao-Ai, Xiaomi's voice assistant, however you could simply do this by voice as well, making this button feel a little bit unnecessary. Additionally, you could program in two ai-tasks (single press and double-press).

The screen has gotten slightly larger and with the selfie-camera no longer being placed in the chin of the phone the screen-body-ratio has increased quite a bit making this 'bezel-less' (and notch-less) phone feel like it's almost like holding just a display.

The camera has been improved for low-light photography and a special night-mode has been added to the camera menu to take better pictures in the dark. However, with Xiaomi releasing phones almost every other month, the improvements as compared to the quite recent Mi-8 and Mi-8 Pro are not really that huge.

The Mi Mix 3 sports a Snapdragon 845 processor, just like on the Mix 2S, although it does feel like it has improved slightly in speed when using them side-by-side. Its Geekbench scores are just a little bit higher than the recently released Mi 8 Pro which, again, is due to the fact that Xiaomi is releasing phones like clockwork, which are all very well performing phones.

I do think many people would favor the Mix 3 over the Mi8 due to it not having a notch, although I am not sure how everyone feels about that sliding display. I personally found the slide to be quite nice and find myself kinda sliding it almost as a type of fidget spinner, but that does mean you have to put a bit of pressure on the display creating quite the extra fingerprints.

Overall I do think the Mix 3 is a great step forward and am curious to find out how this all performs in a few months from now. The photos are really good, as the Mix is still listed as a top-3 DXO mark performing phone and you really can't go wrong for this price.

I am thinking of doing a much more in depth photo-comparison video where we compare pictures taken with the Mix 2S, Mix 3, Mi8 (pro) and perhaps throw in the iPhone X and maybe the Xs (if I can get myself to actually buy that one).

Thus far, Xiaomi's new flagship king, the Mix 3! What do you think? Do you favor the Mix 3 over any other Xiaomi phones, and why?
