Generally candidates say ArrayList are made of arrays and LinkedList are made of Links.
Instead we should say that ArrayList is implemented as a resizable array, hence it allows to access elements randomly faster and traversal, but makes insertion and deletion of elements slower. while LinkedList is implemented as a doubly-linked list, providing fast insertion and deletion of elements, but slower random access and traversal.
