In this study I am using a limited palette of : Ivory black, burnt umber titanium white, burnt sienna (as my red/orange), yellow ocre and just a little bit of Alizarin crimson and french ultramarine. This is a good exercice to use a closed palette like this to get a good grasp on mixing flesh tones and keeping values accurate. Remember that I am not an accomplished artist, I am still learning so please be lenient, this is all made for the purpose of exercise.

I am an artist living and working in France. I paint mainly imaginative realism. I’m mostly self-taught, I learned the techniques of the Academy of the Nineteenth century by myself and now I try to share some of my knowledge with the rest of the world, because I think that beauty still has an important role to play in artistic creation.
