The most important thing about changing a rear differential pinion seal is the pinion bearing preload. It's best to measure before you remove the nut so you can set it back up the way it was. However I rebuilt my Dana 44 and now using a Crush Sleeve Eliminator. Replacing the rear pinion seal isn't hard but care must be taken.
