| Hong Kong, China, June 4, 2019 - Italy defeated the Netherlands in four sets on the first day of week 3 of the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Nations League in Hong Kong on Tuesday.
Italy head coach Davide Mazzanti said: "We are happy with the victory today. Even though at times we gave way too much and had some trouble with our reception. We will continue to improve and we are ready for the upcoming challenges."
Italy team captain Cristina Chirichella said: "Our team did a great job. There were some ups and downs but we did well in general. We are very happy with the result."
Netherlands head coach Alessandro Bettrami said: "Our team is very young. I am 65 percent satisfied with the result. We did not perform very well at the beginning but our young team is trying to get used to the fast pace and face adversities during the match. It was not easy for us but we will continue to improve."
Netherlands team captain Marrit Jasper said: "We did not start so good at the first set but we gradually improved, especially in our reception. Italy was really strong at blocking."
