Forced marriage: "I was raped in the wedding night"
Think forced and child marriage don't happen in the United Kingdom or elsewhere? Here are the stories of brave women survivors who have experienced forced marriage.
Every two seconds a young girl is forced into marriage, according to the campaign group Too Young to Wed. Forced marriage will affect over 14 million girls globally every year, with one girl in nine marrying before the age of 15 and one in three before the age of 18.
Forced and early marriages entrap women and young girls in relationships that deprive them of their basic human rights. Forced marriage constitutes a human rights violation in itself.
Just when you think you've seen it all and people can't get any more depraved, you get to see another barbaric act against women, like this one. Who could do this to their daughters? What in your opinion should be done in order to abolish or at least decrease this heinous crime?
