In this episode of Machine Shop Tours, @alfredlyon27 took us inside AB Tools Inc. and showed us how their cutting tools get done.
How does the machine shop of a practical machinist look? We are taking you for a tour around the world to discover how metalworkers and job shop owners choose to arrange their workspaces, what type of work they typically do, and what type of machines and tools they use to get their parts done.
Today Practical Machinist is virtually visiting Alfred Lyon to take a peek inside his shop.
Founded in 1977 by Alan Baker and his wife, AB Tools Inc. (https://abtoolsinc.com/) makes several types of cutting tools: indexable, carbide tipped, solid carbide, and some HSS cutters.
The facility, located in Lincoln, CA, is home of a multitude of lathes and mills, both CNC and manual, as well as honing machines, cylindrical and manual grinders, and a contaminant-free soldering room, used to join the tips to the tool body.
