Blizzard is changing multiple key areas of the competitive systems as well as competitive gameplay in Season 9, so much so that it could be said the game finally deserves the "2" as far as an update to the Competitive PvP Mode. Between a ranked overhaul, open esports circuit with faceit integration and a massive game mechanics update, Overwatch 2 is preparing for competitive longevity delivering a long list of wish list items that we've had since the launch of the first game.
