Kierkegaard Søren Oby (1813–1855), Danish philosopher and writer. Born May 5, 1813 in Copenhagen in a noble family. His father was a poor peasant who got rich in the woolen trade. The elder Kierkegaard was married twice and had 7 children, of whom only 2 survived. Mother worked as a maid. Seren was the last child when his father was 56 years old. He was brought up in the strict spirit of Protestantism. In 1830, Seren successfully graduated from school. In 1840 he received a theological education at the University of Copenhagen. A year later, he defended his thesis on the topic "On the concept of irony, with constant reference to Socrates", receiving a master's degree.
