Yes its true! Its a unique model where NO POWER is required to operate this Mic.
This has been tested with Hikvision IP cameras with Audio Inputs. It may work with other brands but has not been tested. If it works with yours please do let us know so we can add it to the compatible list. Note that your IP camera has to have audio inputs. Hikvision cameras with audio inputs are marked as -(S) in the product code, except for models with buit in Mics.
