In the Far Eastern Rudd Ugai, the maximum recorded body length is 50 cm, body weight is up to 1.5 kg. The maximum life expectancy is 10 years.
The body is elongated, with small scales. The upper jaw protrudes slightly forward (lower mouth). The spawning run continues from May to June-July. Caviar is sticky, tightly attached to stones and pebbles. Some authors have observed the instillation of caviar into the ground. After spawning, the redfin migrates to the sea.
In relatively large rivers, juveniles can linger in fresh water for a year, however, from short rivers, larvae almost immediately slide into the sea or into lagoon lakes. This fish can repeatedly enter from the sea to the mouths of the rivers during the year, and for wintering it rises to the rivers and lagoon lakes.
