What does FPV mean? | FPV 101: Phase 1, Episode 1
FPV 101 is a new Drone School created by the Drone Racing League and the U.S. Air Force. FPV stands for First Person View. If you’ve ever played with a remote-controlled car before, imagine that you could see & control it from the inside instead of looking at it from the outside. That’s FPV.
The first thing to know about FPV drones is that the “FPV” doesn’t describe the aircraft—it describes the method. As opposed to the traditional method of drone piloting, wherein the pilot controls the aircraft from their perspective on the ground, FPV drones are piloted from the drone’s point of view.
