Transcript:
What is goody gang, so today I am going to be talking about Kokomi and if she is still good for F2P in genshin 3.8 by evaluating her at C0. As usual, please don’t forget to subscribe to be updated on the latest genshin news, and make sure to join our genshin discord server, link in the description. Special thanks to KZH from the server for helping with this video to make videos like these possible as well. So always as a preface to this videos, at the end of the day you should go for who you want the most, but this video is just determining her kit’s value. So, I will be ranking Kokomi based on the following criteria: her kit’s utility; her potency, or how effective her utility is in practice; her versatility; and her ease of use. Beginning with utility, Kokomi gets a respectable 8/10 as her kit is pretty great. Hydro units in general are insanely valuable in genshin with current meta, and since her kit allows her to apply hydro off field this makes her great.
Kokomi’s elemental skill allows her to heal the active character and apply Hydro at the same time with her jellyfish, providing extra comfort. On top of that, her elemental burst and normal attacks allow her to drive teams that don’t have a dedicated on fielder, heal some more, and she can even deal some decent damage too. Her burst also resets her skill, so you can theoretically get 100% uptime on application and healing. Now moving on to potency, she gets a solid 7/10 for this, mainly because her kit does work well at what she can do as support, but there aren’t many teams where she is the strict best option. While she can heal her party, her e’s Hydro application is nice, but is generally worse than other on or off field Hydro units, like Xingqiu, Yelan, and Childe. The fact that it is AoE and off field is relevant, but outside of Nilou bloom, often Xingqiu’s single target, faster application wins out. When the team’s survivability is preceded by nothing else in importance, or when the extra utility of other Hydro units is not necessary, however, she can perform very well. Moving on to versatility, she gets a great 8/10 in this section. She is a real jack-of-all-trades unit in the fact that she can be slotted into various teams. She is very strong in nilou bloom (slight upgrade to barbara but generally considered easier to use); she can be used in certain quickbloom, hyperbloom, or burgeon teams (although generally Xingqiu is a stronger Hydro unit if you don't need the healing). She also can be used in freeze, replacing Mona as the off field Hydro applicator, trading her strong Omen effect for longer-lasting AoE Hydro application and healing via her e. You can also fit her q into many rotations, letting her gain 100% uptime on her jellyfish, but this isn't necessary.
She also has potential in taser teams, being a comfortable alternative to on field Sucrose or Ayato, and with her clam damage, she does good (while not necessarily equal) personal damage. In terms of ease of use, I would give her a 9/10 as she is a great comfort unit for teams. She isn’t hard to build with support weapons such as TTDS or Prototype Amber, which are very easy to get and are among her best options. She brings safety with her constant healing, and you really only have to tap e and swap out in most teams. However, one somewhat major drawback is that you can’t redeploy her skill (without the help of weapons like Sacrificial Fragments, usually reserved for Nilou bloom teams) if enemies move away until your cooldown ends, so you may lose the Hydro application from it. Depending on the enemies you fight, this may or may not be an issue, but as long as you have access to freeze, a grouper, or can play around enemy AI, you should be fine. Overall, she gets a 32/40, or an 80% in terms of overall character strength according to this specific rating system. Please note that this system cannot take into account your specific characters or skill level, so her actual pull value for you is very dependent on you; please only use this as one reference to deciding on if you should pull her, or how you will use her if you do. So, what are your thoughts on Kokomi, and are you going to be pulling her in the upcoming banner? Let
