Fancy stuff from 1999 by Daniel Richard G., will be 15 years next year, and fsv [1] even has an Wikipedia page [2]. According to the website, fsv was inspired by the movie Jurassic Park (1993).
It's a very old code, but still compilable and runnable, despite some errors on functions. Since it's an old code, I have to install x11-libs/gtk+-1.2.10-r12, x11-libs/gtkglarea-1.2.3-r1 for compilation.
It has two primary viewing modes: map view and tree view. Unfortunately, it's so easy to get segmentation fault on tree view.
The animation is very cool, but as I said, fancy stuff. It might not look fancy to you, but still is.
Written in C, licensed under the LGPL.
