Baby Fire Skinks hatched in the tank!
You don't see this every day! They hatch just as red as the adults but with a gorgeous baby blue tail as well.
Unlike the well known Blue-Tongued Skink, these guys actually lay eggs! Their clutch sizes appear to vary between 3-8 at a time.
They are fossorial which means they are adapted to life underground so it is important, even for the babies, to provide a substrate that will maintain the shape of their burrows. A 1:3 ratio of Excavator® Clay and ReptiSoil™ works great for that while also maintaining proper humidity.
