Favino Lorier comes from a family of Gypsy musicians from the east of France, he grew up surrounded by the music of his family: Ringo Lorier, Sandro Lorier, Dorado Schmitt, Samson Schmitt, Amati Schmitt, Brady Winterstein, Pansch Weiss, and many others. Whereas many Gypsy Jazz guitarists are gravitating towards a "modern sound" nowadays, Favino went the opposite direction, in search of the nostalgic feelings of the old days. He has developed a unique playing style based on these influences and is one of the rising stars of Gypsy Jazz.
