If you've worked in software industry, you MUST have created or used a Product Roadmap. The product roadmap is a path towards the vision of your product.

However, in software industry, the way product roadmaps are creating is wrong because the product roadmaps are focussed more on how part of the product than what.

A product roadmap consists of 2 things, WHAT and HOW? What should be absolutely clear because What tells how to reach to vision of the product and HOW tells how much time it will take.
The product vision can be absolutely clear but how part is dependent upon many circumstance which includes the opportunity and constraints. That's why we need the HOW part to be different from WHAT.
