Animation Doppler effect for a stationary source and moving listener.
In this doppler effect animation, we see and hear the frequency changes caused by the Doppler effect for a stationary source and moving listener (moving toward the source and away from the source).
We show a stationary source emitting a pure tone of 400Hz. The stationary listener detects the 400Hz tone. When the listener begins to move toward the source, the moving listener crosses wave crests at a faster rate and hears a tone of 420Hz. When the listener moves away from the source, the listener detects wave crests at a slower pace and hears a tone of 380Hz.
