We will go through everything you will need in order to confidently edit videos on your own. I will start by explaining how to import media into Davinci Resolve, then how to set up your settings for your video. When we're done with all the boring stuff we'll start with the fun part, THE EDITING!

Editing videos is a term that includes a lot of different things in the process. So I will walk you through every part of it, and you can just follow me while editing. I will also try to explain everything I'm doing, so you won't get confused. The goal in this video is to make you understand the process, not just copy my moves...

In the first part of the editing, we'll start by trimming the videos we're going to include in our video! Here you'll learn a lot of effective ways of doing it. You can even trim it before adding it to the timeline which will help you avoid a lot of stress! To do this we use in- and outpoints. After this, we'll trim it down in a more precise manner if necessary.

There is also background music in the video we're going to create, and here is something a lot of new editors miss out on; adjusting the audio to the correct levels! Here you'll learn how loud it should be for youtube which differs from normal movie levels for example. We'll walk through neat ways of editing it! And I'll also share a lot of tips on how to make it fit the video or compliment the video if you want.

To make your videos cinematic and just jump from one clip to another, we're going to apply transitions/effects between the clips. So you'll learn how to find them, apply them and also edit them to make them exactly how you would like them to behave.

KEYFRAMES! This is a BIG one for beginners and something you NEED to understand in order to make great videos. So I'm OF COURSE including that in this video. If you don't know what that is don't worry, you'll learn in no time here. The short version: it's a way of animating movement to your clips without them actually moving. For example, if you shot the video in a steady manner, you can make it look like you are panning your camera from one side to the other! I'm also making a more advanced video in keyframes at the moment, so be sure to subscribe to get notified on that one!

Then we're done! BUT don't worry, I will show you how to export it out of Davinci Resolve... We'll go through which settings to choose and what you need to know. So yeah, not more to say about that one, now go watch the video! Jump on the train and become a confident editior!

PS: I'm sorry the video became so long... I just want to make sure people at every stage in the learning curve can follow along!
