Cuban Revolution
Cuban Revolution (26/ 07/1953 – 01/01/1959): was an armed uprising led by the revolutionary party Movement of 26th of July (abbreviated M-26-7) of Fidel Castro and his comrades against the military dictatorship of Cuban President Fulgencio Batista. The revolution began in July 1953,[4] and continued until the final overthrow of Batista on January 1, 1959, replacing his government with a revolutionary socialist state. July 26, 1953 is commemorated in Cuba as Revolution Day. The M-26-7 party later reformed along communist lines, becoming the Communist Party of Cuba in October 1965.
