Like most things in life, our view of management has changed over time. We need to consult economic history books to get a proper feeling for what management was like in the early days of capitalism. However, it is right that we should commence our study of management and move through the various stages and see how it has been refined over time.
We start with classical management, however we rapidly move to more sophisticated and more up-to-date models that help to explain the nature, purpose, and functioning of modern management.
