The game offers to try yourself in the role of a kind of Bear Grylls - a master of survival in almost any conditions. Two heroes, pilot Will Mackenzie and doctor Astrid Greenwood, need to escape from a huge forest full of dangers. And besides that, it’s also terribly cold. However, for the duration of early access on Steam, the game offers a passage without a plot.
In The Long Dark, you need to hunt, look for safe places, collect provisions and explore the territory. It is also necessary to monitor biological parameters: hunger, thirst, body temperature, calories and fatigue. Ignoring the problems of the body means greatly reducing your chances of salvation.
The hero will be able to use more than a hundred pieces of equipment. These are clothes, axes, guns, medicines, flares, flashlights and so on. Weapons are especially important. Firstly, there are enough predators here, and secondly, thanks to accurate shooting, you can arrange an excellent dinner of venison or rabbit meat.
