Last month we packed up shop and left for the seaside for this years Great Escape festival. The streets were filled with many a bearded folk, guitar laden groupies and the walking dead, with the background hum of over 400+ bands from noon till dawn. Alongside the live music, we set up camp at the wonderful Brighton Electric and invited some special acts to come play for us. First up in our Great Escape series is Hudson Taylor. Earlier this month, they released their latest EP 'Battles' and lucky for us, they performed brilliant lead track for your viewing pleasure. Harry and Alfie are brothers from Dublin who have been honing their stirring folk-pop sound over a series of rapturously-received EPs and singles.
2013 saw them tour with the likes of Jake Bugg and Kodaline, as well as prestigious slots supporting none other than the Rolling Stones at Hyde Park. The original version of 'Battles', was released as part of the duo's debut EP in 2012 and has since been streamed over one million times on Spotify. The band's EPs have thus far sold in excess of 25.000 copies and earlier this month, they played their biggest headline show to date at London's Electric Ballroom. Having amassed a huge following, they are currently putting the finishing touches to their debut album, which will be released in Autumn.
