Singer from Texas. Brother of Al Downing. Though singer Don Downing’s lone charting solitary was the Memphis soul-tinged “Lonesome Days, Lonely Evenings,” which charted at number 65 R&B in summer season 1973, he’s a longtime preferred of dance music devotees for “Doctor Boogie.” The pumping brassy quantity was a big success in disco night clubs and discovered its method onto the play set of main market r / c in Chicago and somewhere else in 1978.
