Jordan loses second vote for House speaker (10/18 - FULL STREAM)
Post journalists anchored coverage as the House of Representatives voted for a second time on whether to make Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) its next speaker. Jordan fell short during both his attempts on Tuesday. The position has remained vacant since Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) was ousted from the post — the next speaker has roughly five weeks remaining to pass a funding deal and avert a government shutdown.
