Shown here in the video are the Galaxy S22 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold 3. I wanted to do a slow-motion video recorded at 240 FPS to test the PWM Flicker. PWM is short for Pulse Width Modulation and is a method that manufacturers use to adjust the displays brightness. While it may save them money, it sometimes causes headaches, eye strains, burning watery eyes, and even nausea for users. Both LCD and OLED displays use PWM but LCD is usually around 1000 Hz or more so its harder to perceive due to the higher frequency. OLEDs tend to have a lower PWM frequency so its easier to notice for those sensitive to it. For those sensitive to PWM, try to keep the brightness higher, turn off auto brightness, and taking breaks should help alleviate some discomfort.
