Highly recommended that you watch in 480p. This is a fun little 1/2 mile long train ride in Poway, CA.
One well kept secret in the greater San Diego area is the Poway Midland Railroad, located as the name would imply in the city of Poway. I won't go into too many details, suffice it to say, it is a small, but cool little operation. They have a few interesting pieces of equipment that they run on the weekends - a LARY trolley (battery powered), an old speeder car and short train, and probably the most interesting, an old 1907 steam locomotive, completely refurbished. However, the days of the steam locomotive may be numbered. A crack was recently found and patched in the 70 year old boiler, but the next time it breaks, the railroad will have to purchase a new boiler - a very expensive ordeal. I don't know how far into the future that will be, but I highly recommend that if you have the chance and would like to see the steamer, you do so not too long from now. It's definitely worth the visit.
