On Capitol Hill, a Homeland Security internal watchdog has released a troubling report. It claims US Immigration and Customs Enforcement has lost track of a massive number of unaccompanied migrant children who have crossed the Southern Border, raising fears of exploitation and even trafficking. According to the report sent to Congress this week, more than a quarter of a million unaccompanied children have crossed the border in the last 5 years. It also said the Immigration Custom and Enforcement Agency must take "immediate action" to ensure their safety. Experts say border protection isn't even using its legal authority to detain them. The report adds that thousands of children never appear for their immigration hearings after being released from government custody. Democrats blame Republicans for the problem.
