JAWA 300 Overview
The Jawa is the flagship model in the new Jawa motorcycle series introduced by Classic Legends Private Limited in 2018. The new Jawa has a design which is a fitting tribute to the original two-stroke Jawa motorcycles from the 1960s. The Czech brand has quite a legacy in India and has a nostalgic charm and fan following even today. Now, Classic Legends, which has 60 per cent ownership with the Mahindra Group, has resurrected the Jawa brand with a brand new modern classic, with a four-stroke engine, which is ready to meet the latest BS-VI emission regulations which kick in from April 2020, as well as anti-lock braking system.

The design of the Jawa is quintessential 1960s Jawa and there’s no mistaking the design pedigree. The Jawa is powered by a 293 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine which puts out 28 bhp of power at 6500 rpm and 27 Nm of peak torque at 5000 rpm. Actual top speed is around 130 kmph, but the Jawa is meant for relaxed cruising rather than outright acceleration. The ride quality is taut and handling is excellent, particularly over bad roads, and the 165 mm ground clearance with the standard engine bash plate makes it easy to tackle tough terrain. The Jawa tips the scales with 170 kg kerb weight.
