UD College of Earth, Ocean, and Environment graduate student Samantha Speck is pursuing her master's in Geography not by mapping the globe, but by helping to put mushrooms on the map. Her research focuses on interviewing leaders in the local and national mushroom industry in order to determine what the biggest long-term risks to the industry are and how different farms plan to tackle these risks in different ways. And while her research may be on the mushroom industry now, Speck knows that this experience will prepare her for a broader career in the growing field of risk management.
