Khan Younis hospital surrounded as Israel steps up southern Gaza offensive
Tanks have surrounded al-Amal hospital in Khan Younis, said the Palestine Red Crescent, adding it had lost contact with staff there.
Scores of civilians were killed and injured and 24 Israeli soldiers were killed in Gaza on Monday as Israel advanced its assault on Khan Younis and, for the first time, Gaza's al-Mawasi district. Sieges of medical facilities meant dozens of dead and wounded were beyond the reach of rescuers
